Coleco presents the ADAM Computer System – video from 1983

DemoADAM

I was surprised to find that the ComputerHistory account on YouTube has recently uploaded a video of Coleco presenting a finalized version of the ADAM to the public.  This is great.  There’s lots of demonstrations.  Heck, just watch the video!

About Coleco ADAM

I’m Justin M. Salvato, a fan and collector of vintage computers. This blog is dedicated to the very first computer I have ever owned: The Coleco ADAM. It is also my favorite. The goal of the blog is to provide information about the ADAM as well as the software and hardware that were created for this vintage computer system.

Eric certainly used all the buzzwords. I wasn’t at that meeting but it would have been hard to hear that and not scratch your head. I suspect it was entirely written by the marketing dept.

And they look exactly as I remember them. Thanks for sharing this!

I have no doubt that was all marketing. These days such events wouldn’t be considered without having software and hardware engineers in stage alongside the higher ups.

      • Howard says:

Coleco was funny about that. They had their talking points that were carefully calculated. They actually did NOT want engineers talking to anyone, lest one of us would contradict some poorly worded statement or outright lie. I was being polite when I guessed these were marketing-written descriptions of things.
